The ‘Must-Do’ Marketing Moves Your Business Needs Before 2026

December 1st, 2025 | By Andrew (AJ) Doherty

As I sit and reflect on 2025, I can’t help but smile at all I’ve accomplished—and grit my teeth at everything still on my to-do list. Why did I run that ad campaign with that creative? And what was I thinking when I decided it was a great idea to host an open business happy hour during the hottest week of July?

Like most brands, it’s easy to push the year’s analysis, housekeeping, and adjustments to the beginning of 2026. But the smartest brands know that what we get done now frees us up for big strategic opportunities in the new year. If you’re going to procrastinate until January to make changes, here are my top four “at least you should” to-dos before you settle in for that long winter’s nap.

1. Audit Your Website and Fix the Visibility Gaps

Before you bolt for the holidays faster than I run up the stairs after a horror movie, make sure you’ve checked these website vitals before turning off the lights:

  • Website Speed
  • SEO Structure
  • Page Content
  • Calls to Action
  • Mobile Experience

What Kinetic Greenhouse can do to help:
We can run a complete website audit and provide a prioritized list of improvements. This may include SEO upgrades, keyword structure, metadata fixes, content cleaning, and recommendations to strengthen visibility across search and answer engines.

Whatever we find, we can audit and fix before 2026!

2. Update Your Google Business Profile for 2026

One of the most common requests we get is help updating and optimizing Google Business Profiles—you know, that super handy business listing that pops up when you search for something on Google and see all the important info: website, phone number, photos, menu, reviews, and hours of operation.

Before the new year, make sure your profile has:

  • Updated holiday and winter hours
  • New photos
  • Refreshed categories
  • Accurate services
  • New posts
  • A strategy for generating more reviews

What Kinetic Greenhouse can do to help:
We can fully refresh and optimize your profile to improve your ranking and ensure your business appears in local map results and industry-related searches.

Whatever we find, we can audit and fix before 2026!

3. Refresh Your Messaging and Content Direction

You’ve been telling the same old story for years—the one your regular customers can recite by heart. It’s time for something new and fresh that inspires action (and maybe a few gasps). Before the year ends, make sure to:

  • Review your key messaging
  • Update homepage copy
  • Refresh product or service descriptions
  • Clean up old social content
  • Establish clear content themes for Q1

What Kinetic Greenhouse can do to help:
We’ll do all the heavy lifting so you can focus on closing out the year and resting up over the holidays. We can refine your brand messaging, rewrite key website sections, develop new content angles, and build a Q1 content plan that speaks directly to your ideal customer.

Whatever we find, we can audit and fix before 2026!

4. Build a Q1 Marketing Roadmap

I’d like to say my grandfather once told me, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail,” but he didn’t. I probably heard it from some cool father figure in a movie—or a quote on an Instagram post somewhere. Either way, the message still stands! Planning ahead so you can hit the ground running while everyone else is still waking up from their holiday naps might just be the best thing you do for your business in 2026.

My (bare minimum) recommendations for your Q1 plan:

  • Top goals
  • Audience segments (who you’re targeting next year)
  • Content calendar
  • Paid media priorities
  • Budget and timeline

What Kinetic Greenhouse can do to help:
We’ll build your business a 90-day marketing roadmap that includes priorities, deliverables, and a step-by-step plan that either your team—or ours—can execute with focus and clarity.

Did I mention that whatever we find, we can audit and fix before 2026?

Final Thoughts

Finishing the year isn’t about doing it all—it’s about doing the right things to set yourself up for success in 2026. (Now this sounds like something my dad would say: “I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed.”)

Implement these four strategic initiatives before the new year—or have Kinetic Greenhouse take care of them for you—so you can do whatever you were planning to do anyway, without feeling like you’re falling behind.
